Astrology of Blogging: The Meme!

Jeffrey tapped me on the shoulder to weigh in on Twilight‘s recent post about the astrology of blogging. Twilight’s thesis is that some alchemic soup involving Mercury (especially angular) with Jupiter (for publishing), Saturn (for consistency), and perhaps a dash of Uranus (for astrology), creates a sort of AstroBlogger Perfect Storm. And doggone it, I think she’s got something there.

Yours truly, an astroblogger since November 1994, is guilty as charged:

  • Mercury in the 9th house (publishing)…
  • …opposed Jupiter and Saturn;
  • with Uranus ruling the 3rd house (writing).

How do ya like them apples?

Let’s meme this sucker! – I tag Elsa, Michele, and Barbara. Lay it on us, ladies!

  • “Uranus in the 2nd house of God-given talents” is a bit of a stretch, methinks. Uranus in the 3rd or ruling the 3rd is a wee bit stronger. Then again, blogging is so incredibly popular, I don’t see any alchemy to any kind of blogging, although a person who does astrological blogging might have a Uranus emphasis in their chart. My blog is a great reflection of the birth chart: I’ve been told that I’m really angry (Mars in Scorpio rising) in the blog, but much sweeter and funnier in person (Leo Sun/Mercury/Jupiter in the 10th).

    Just my .02. 😉

  • Aw, Maria… And here I was, daring to hope my 2nd house Saturn might hold the key to some heretofore elusive God-given talents. Buzzkill!

Well, many are called to blog but of course abandoned sites abound, offering mute testimony that not all who blog are really “bloggers” per se. Maybe the key to sticking with it is some quality of Saturn – or maybe it’s just those of us with a lot of stubborn fixed planets. 😉

Anywho, you’re utterly charming, dear, and that Mars in Scorpio looks good on you!

I didn’t know you dared…and I joined in. Thanks for the invite.

  • April – You were my first astro commenter and I didn’t realise you were “Big Sky” – I’ve linked you to my blog now, and will drop by regularly. Thanks for your input – much appreciated. I’m new to comments, so hope this one gets through. (Twilight – Learning curve on the Ecliptic)

  • […] April bottom lined it this way “Twilight’s thesis is that some alchemic soup involving Mercury (especially angular) with Jupiter (for publishing), Saturn (for consistency), and perhaps a dash of Uranus (for astrology), creates a sort of AstroBlogger Perfect Storm. • OMG, April, Twilight is totally on to me.

    – Angular Mercury – check.
    – In a Jupiter sign – check.
    – Jupiter conjunct Saturn – check.
(many, many fixed planets – check.)

Might as well resign myself to my eternal fate now [skulks off for more compulsive blogging]…

    Warmly,
    Nina

  • Nina, you are my cosmic soul sister. What did nice girls like us do in our past lives to deserve a Jupiter/Saturn conjunction? I ask ya!
