[1:10] The Sun will enter Scorpio on October 23rd (9:21 AM PDT) and will stay in this sign through November 22, 2023. This is the season of celebrating loved ones and others who have passed over to the other side through holidays such as Samhain and Day of the Dead.
[1:54] On a practical level, Scorpio season is an excellent time for deep cleaning. In the Northern Hemisphere, this is the time to prepare for the colder weather and darker days. Deep conversations with loved ones are encouraged.
[3:03] On October 24th (12:13 AM PDT), the Sun trines Saturn at 00º37’ Scorpio and Pisces. This is a time when we’re likely to be acknowledged for our achievements, for our leadership, for our maturity. The Sun is on the Sabian symbol, 1 Scorpio, a sightseeing bus.
[4:53] Mars opposes Jupiter on October 28th (9:03 AM PDT) at 11°15’ of Scorpio and Taurus. Jupiter is on the Sabian symbol, 12 Taurus Window shoppers. Mars is on the Sabian symbol, 12 Scorpio, An embassy ball. Take action in the direction of a wish or an adventure! You may just get the reward you seek.
[7:11] Mercury opposes Jupiter on October 28th (8:44 PM PDT) at 11º 11’ Scorpio and Taurus. Use this articulate energy by grabbing a pen, start making lists, do some journaling about your beliefs and dreams.
[8:38] Moon Report! A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse will occur on October 28th (1:24 PM PDT) at 05º09’ Taurus. This eclipse point conjoins Jupiter in Taurus and is opposed Sun, Mercury and Mars in Scorpio. Lunar eclipses are very influential to relationships because they happen at a Full Moon, when the Sun and the Moon are opposite each other.
[10:46] The Sabian symbol for the Sun at this Lunar Eclipse is 6 Scorpio, A gold rush. The Sabian symbol for the Moon is 6 Taurus, A bridge being built across a gorge.
[11:14] Look back at previous eclipses near this degree for clues as to what this eclipse may bring. Those were on October 28, 2004, and October 28, 1995. There were also eclipses that were square or opposed this point in 2008, 2013, 2004, and 2005, 1999. There could be themes of money and/or your sense of self-worth in relationships related to these eclipses.
[11:43] This lunation is the midpoint in the lunar cycle that began with the Solar Eclipse on October 14, 2023 which was square Pluto in Capricorn. This is also the midpoint in a Lunar Phase Family Cycle (LPFC) that began at the April 30, 2022 Solar Eclipse at 10°28’ Taurus. The First Quarter Moon point in this LPFC was on January 28, 2023. On July 27, 2024, we’ll have the Last Quarter Moon in this LPFC, at 05º 32’ Taurus. If there is anything in your birth chart that’s between about 6°-14° of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, this is an important point LPFC for you.
[14:17] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon Periods. On October 23rd, the Moon in Aquarius squares Uranus (12:04 PM PDT). It’s VOC for almost 13 ½ hours (!!!) before it enters Pisces on October 24th (1:33 AM PDT). Overall, this is a period of restlessness and disruption, but what we can learn from it during the VOC Moon period is to try to begin to disconnect ourselves from things that do not feel meaningful to us and that are making us feel very rebellious.
[16:48] On October 25th, the Moon in Pisces sextiles Pluto (11:39 PM PDT). It’s VOC for about 3 ½ hours before it enters Aries on October 26th (3:01 AM PDT). Try to carve out a little time where you can retreat, rest and relax. The connection with Pluto can put you in a much stronger position to go after the things that you really dream of doing.
[18:10] The Moon in Aries squares Pluto in Capricorn on October 28th (1:20 AM PDT). It’s VOC for almost 3 ½ hours before it enters Taurus (4:44 AM PDT). This is one for clearing the emotional air.
[20:05] On October 29th (7:22 AM PDT), Mercury makes a conjunction with Mars at 11º53′ Scorpio. This is a good transit for speaking our minds but be careful of using harsh words that can’t be taken back. Be clear in your intent. But leave room for respect and kindness as well.
[22:01] Listener Jeanette from the UK asks about how to interpret the Sun and other planets above and below the horizon of a chart. Check out Rex Bills’ Rulership Book for astrological correspondences.
