Every couple of days, after the Moon has finished making all major aspects in its sign, it enters a “void-of-course” period that lasts until it changes signs. According to conventional astrological wisdom, Void-of-Course Moon periods are considered astrological “dead zones” – unhappy times to start new projects, meet new people, or make important decisions.

That’s how I used the Void-of-Course Moon for years. But I kept running across numerous puzzling examples in which it just didn’t seem to work the way it was supposed to. Looking for an explanation eventually took me all the way back to the 17th century. In this lecture, we take a look at the charts of some surprising and enduring events and connections that began during these Void-of-Course Moon periods – and challenge our modern understanding of them.
