Now for the
moment we've all been waiting for. How to sift through
all the graphs and tables and bewildering symbolic overload?
One of my favorite
methods for beginning to break down the chart comes from Steven
Forrest's book "The
Changing Sky." (click here to buy the book from Amazon.com)
He uses a series of "nets" designed to cull the most significant
planetary events of the moment while allowing those less
crucial to fall through. (Or something. Read the book.
Great stuff.)
I think the
greatest misconception of the beginning astrologer is that
they have to cover everything in the chart in minute detail,
and they have to do it in 90 minutes, or their client will
be disappointed.
But think about
it; don't most of your clients come to you because they're
feeling a bit overwhelmed and confused by all the conflicting
impulses in their life? They want you to simplify things
for them, not confuse them more by throwing fifty thousand
things at them. Like us, they need help getting to
what's important.
Here's
a table I adapted from the first two of Forrest's nets
(the only two I ever use). (Note: Included
with the author's permission.)
