I always ask my
client to mail me a letter with their check, to indicate exactly
what they'd like me to cover in the session and to give me
a feel for their particular non-astrological reality.
I do this for several reasons:
I'm not clairvoyant
and I don't enjoy playing the role of guru, so this provides
an additional screening device to discourage expectations
that may lead to disappointment.
Just because
I know something about astrology's symbols, and a number
of real life examples of how other people have expressed
these symbols, doesn't mean I know how this client will
express these symbols.
This information
helps me understand their perspective on their current situation.
It gives the
client a chance to think about and organize their thoughts,
to formulate specific questions.
At the bare minimum,
it's helpful to know the client's:
- gender
- sexual orientation
- marital status
- current career
- most pressing
concerns
