Believe it or
not, you're home free. You've done the hardest work--the
Musing. That's the one that busts our astrological chops,
and it's because it's the one we were never taught.
It's so damn hard just to master the technical aspects
of astrology, to become fluent in the language, that it can
be ages before you can cut loose and get creative with it.
Be patient.
You didn't expect to write "War and Peace" after two years
of grade school composition, and your astrological ambitions
should be reasonable as well. You've done your homework.
You have some basic idea of what the important symbols are
for your client right now, when they've been important to
her in the past, and you have some thoughts about what this
might mean.
That's the best
you can do to prepare for the unpredictable, mysterious alchemy
of your astrological session. Your client may present
questions or information for which you have no brilliant answer
or insight readily available. In fact, let's hope so:
your client should be the authority on his or her life. The
best you can hope for is to catalyze and illuminate that self-knowledge,
and to lead the dance well.
