In the eyes of the bloodthirsty, I see the reflection of my own struggle. And when I wish for us to find the grace to forgive even our murderous enemies, I’m no sweet violet crushed under heel, spreading the cloying, insincere fragrance of piety. I’m just a fellow savage, reaching for salvation.

At the Full Moon in Taurus, life regains some of its flavor and color. We are reminded of life’s blessings, not just its perils. We find ourselves opening a window to simple, happy pleasures, letting go of obsessive angst and allowing the world to simply be what it is. We are alive….
I don’t want to live in an immortal world. I want to mourn my dead, savagely, because I had the pleasure of loving them so dearly. I want to fight death because I’m determined to embrace life ecstatically. I want to proceed with joy into everything that makes life difficult, because they are the same things that make life dear.
Ritual is the way we ask for help from the gods, but if you’re like me, you may not feel comfortable with solemn, formal ritual filled with prescribed incantations and possibly incense. In fact, I think all that’s required is that we simply ask for what we want—politely, respectfully, and winningly, while putting our best qualities forward.
Once, there was so much road ahead of me that I could afford to make some wrong turns along the way. It doesn’t feel that way now. Like a mountain that was once a distant speck on the horizon and is now coming into view, I can see that there is an end point to this journey….
“Who would you be if you stopped being what you are?” Scorpio whispers. I have no idea how to answer that for myself. I do know that the only way to begin to find the answer is to make space for the question.
Because there is nothing wishy-washy about Scorpio, Saturn is finishing its transit here in decisive fashion. “No longer this,” we think, even if we’re not sure what will fill the gaps opened by loss….
We’re reminded at the Scorpio New Moon how easily accidents, illness, and murderers can take our bodies, at any moment. Eventually, the body will die – there’s no controlling that. But remember, too, that life isn’t a body. Life doesn’t disappear just because it takes a form we no longer recognize….
Prosperity is a dance you must do with the unseen forces of the collective. The money you hope to attract has to come from other people. And the minute you demonstrate a willingness to accept help from the collective, the oppressive weight of trying to earn a living is immediately cut in half. There’s no shame in letting others carry you part of the way along your journey….
Loss and savagery, failure and ruthlessness, cruelty and hurt come to us inevitably as a natural consequence of Mars energy in the world — the price paid for progress — and we lose our innocent Aries enthusiasm soon enough; but over time it is broken down into the rich, emotional loam of Scorpio, from which beautiful things grow….
