From my e-book “2011 Eclipses”
November 24, 2011 – Solar Eclipse at 2.37 Sagittarius
Sabian Symbol: Two men playing chess
The chart for this solar eclipse shows the New Moon eclipse point square Mars in Virgo and Neptune in late degrees of Aquarius, and trine Uranus. The best potential outcome is individuation (Uranus) – being free to be truly yourself.
The squares to Mars (confrontation and competition) and Neptune (much-needed clarity, or else disillusionment), and the Sabian symbol for this degree, suggest toppling those in charge and risking everything to win. Sagittarius is a sign that loves to gamble, but it’s also the sign of kings; and since this is the Sabian degree of toppling reigning monarchs and taking their territory, this eclipse may speak of the freedom (Uranus) that can come from relinquishing your own empire.
Have you outgrown your realm? Are you ready for an entirely new adventure? Then it’s time to abdicate your throne and set yourself free.
Venus in late Sagittarius is close to a conjunction with Pluto and a square to Uranus in the eclipse chart, so this may be a time when relationships blow up – especially those in which one parner has been “playing king.”
Hot degrees: This eclipse will probably be especially significant for you if you have planets or angles – especially the Sun, Moon, or Ascendant – between about 28 degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius, and 7 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces.
Past years in cycle: Since 1990, eclipses near this degree have taken place on:
May 21, 1993 (solar)
May 25, 1994 (lunar)
May 26, 2002 (lunar)
November 23, 2003 (solar)
