I'd use Saturn, since it's the first planet after the ascendant - though in your case, caution is quickly followed by action!

By the way, I have Moon in Pisces in the 9th house and my sanctuary as a kid was definitely reading. It saved my life. I don't read as much these days, though.

Thank you again April for such a beautiful explanation of your sacred space. I have been in your home and it is indeed a sacred space. I loved the energy, and as a Taurus I so enjoyed the beauty emanating from everywhere.
My Pisces is on the tenth house cusp, I had many years of unfortunate experiences in my career's. It appears now as an Astrologer, I have been able to find my niche. Helping others, to find there inner sacred space.

I have Scorpio 29 rising, Saturn 0 and Mars 6 both Sag.
Saturn says I am cautious, Mars says I make things happen.
Do I look at both or only Saturn?

Great site, I have not been on the blog :)

Dog transits! :D

I wonder whether your 11th house Pisces situation connects to this passage in the article: "In fact, I think the areas of life symbolized in our birth charts by Pisces are sacred not just because they’re places where we can retreat and regroup, but because they describe where we meet the issues that stand between us and true inner peace." There have certainly been times when home and family have been precisely the things that stood between me and true inner peace!

Funny. I was reading a friend's blog, and she was talking about a neighbour with a pit bull...seems to be the theme of the day. My Pisces is in house 11, but I do NOT feel sanctuary in groups...

I hear you, Marly. And yes, Pluto sucks. I tend to think nothing sucks as much, then I have a bad Saturn transit and am reminded how very much those can suck as well. :)

Yes, but there's only so much sacrifice I can take, you know, April? Like that great line by Hillel: "If I am not for myself, then who will be? If I am only for myself, then who am I?" Also, if I don't look out for my needs, then I won't be around to serve anyone at all. There is definitely a middle ground.

Imo, Pluto is a much bigger malefic than Saturn. Any planet aspecting it makes for a terrible tango.

I guess Pisces would assert that spirituality and compassion aren't meant to serve oneself, or to be "useful"... at least, not directly. ;D OTOH, having no planets in Pisces and Mars/Pluto in Virgo, I've been embracing the inner bitch for a long time now. I have to say that stance hasn't served me terribly well or been very useful, either. I'm continually looking for the middle ground between giving people the benefit of the doubt and being played for a sucker; I'm more successful on some days than on others! :)
