I've been
choosing wedding dates for couples for more than a decade now, and each year it
gets both easier and more difficult. Easier, because I know what I'm looking for
and have figured out how to find it quickly. But more difficult because the
times themselves are more difficult - and this is reflected in our astrology.
Used
to be, I could find a half dozen or more really solid dates in a given year -
dates so good that I didn't hesitate to urge clients to move their wedding date
up or back to take advantage of them. And while 2011 is generally shaping up to be a lot better than 2010 - the cardinal t-square of doom has mostly subsided; Venus and Mars are both direct all year! - it's still not exactly brimming over with a surfeit of extra-super-special dates (especially weekend dates).
Does this mean you
should pull the blankets over your head and put off your wedding for a year or
two?
I'm reminded of something my own wedding officiant once
said to me. "The best time to get married," she advised, "is
when you really, really want to." Love, passion, and excitement are the
narcotic that make the first years of marriage - all the compromise and adjustment
- a labor of joy instead of frustration. This newlywed devotion and optimism can help make the world's problems seem
downright manageable.
In the end, it's your love for each other,
and your commitment to your relationship, that will make your marriage a success.
Wedding astrology is just a useful ritual to help you align your relationship
and marriage with cosmic intention.
Besides, there are still some pretty darn good moments
in 2011 in which to say "I do." This article will give you an overview of the year's
high(and low)lights. Then, to narrow down your choices, use my wedding
